A Mother's Son Poem by Randy McClave

A Mother's Son

To all wives and girlfriends this I will say
As you journey through each and everyday,
Especially to all the mothers who are out there
Who has a son in their tender loving care.
Remember not to lie or to cheat or to ever yell
As time goes on your son is affected and time will tell,
A son watches every move that his mother makes
From the way that she treats others, to her making cakes.
And ifthe son's mother has a good man around
That is where a boy's adolescence growth will be found,
Mothers treat your man as you want to be treated
And if a man treats you wrong, he's the one defeated.
Let your son see and know how a woman is respected
In long terms your son is forever affected,
Never allow a man to ever treat you like dirt
And never not let your son know that cheating doesn't hurt.
Of course never treat a man like total crap
And never at his pain and loneliness stand up and clap,
A promise made is always a promise kept
Hurtful tears are the saddest tears ever wept.
When you have a husband or a boyfriend or even a mate
Do not ever disrespect him with deceitfulness or hate,
As you yourself want to be treated like a true queen
And proud and happy you always want to be known and seen.
You are your sons true role model
His beliefs and his directions you should never coddle,
His maturity is formed from what he has seen and heard;
You are his shepherd.
Someday your son will mature into a man
Finding him a woman will be his destiny and his plan,
When your son finds that special woman to say, "I do"
I hope truthfully, that she is a woman just like you.
