A Movement Of Progression Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

A Movement Of Progression

A suggested way,
To keep steps moving forward.
Is to not be distracted,
By those attracted to the past.
As if to wish to relive all of it.
With a future not yet to exist,
In the hopes that those...
One day for them eventually comes,
Describe what others can expect.
With it to argue with them,
Over changes made...
They say they will not,
For themselves accept.
If it means adjusting...
Their decades of held onto attitudes.

Moving forward to do,
May take a solo pioneering spirit.
And in some places,
Creative excuses to make...
To eliminate being accused,
Of taking steps to move forward.
One may have to take those steps,
Done to do backward.
Just from being noticed,
A movement of progression is being done.
