A One-Sided Love Poem by Nishi Kumari

A One-Sided Love

Rating: 5.0

She saw him first working at the stairs
He looked like an angel from the sky above
In wrinkled clothes with deep blue eyes
She stood like a statue staring him even when he was gone

She peeps out of her window for just a look of him
Awaits in her balcony searching him in the heavy traffic
Her anxious eyes like two big pearls shines only in his light
From dawn till dusk they yearn only to see him

She looks shy like a beautiful princess
with cheeks red as roses
She is full of the hues of happiness
dreaming of his divine presence
Her untouched love full of innocence
was turning immortal but so insecure
She with her sprouting seeds of aspirations
say she is in love

Long time has passed she never saw him again
But in her memory his thoughts as green as they were
Her curious eyes now like two big crystals of tears
growing dim in his absence
From dawn to dusk they still desire to see him

She is adorned in a maroon veil
The chariot of her marriage has arrived
She shivers like a cold freezing dead bone
with an unsaid fear
Her life has moved on but her broken heart still
stuck in the boundless chain of love

She rushes with her children dropping
them to school
When she sees a stranger standing at a distance
Her heart missed a beat and the unspoken love
thrilled her from within
She bades goodbye and runs to catch a cab

'her sprouting seeds of aspirations' I like this line: the Spring of her soul.. then common life takes its own drive.. Life is hard on many of us, isn't it? Thanks for sharing, Nishi

Nicely written Nishi, One sided love is really difficult to describe since it only reflect feeling of one person leaving other in doldrums....Nice one again 10
