A Pastiche Of All We See? Poem by Mark Heathcote

A Pastiche Of All We See?

Is life a pastiche of all we see?
Is it a spiritual crossing point
Far from the river Jordan.
Far beyond the Sea of Galilee.

Will our dreams one day
Be interstellar linked
Let's-encounter the stars
And drift into rem-sleep.

Dot the dots, will we greet
And join our ancestors,
Let's encounter their hearts
Sweep aside the darkness.

And swirl with the paintbrush-
That depicted all of the Milky Way.
And all of the universe
Painted-by-the-hand of the artist.
