A Poet understands their language of pain,
Who shed a drop or two of their tears,
Silently, here and there,
And wiping off their moist eyes,
Try to look composed wearing a pale smile.
A poet hears the silent sigh of the woman
Who, cooking in the kitchen
For her beloved ones at home,
Also thinks of someone distant and drops a sigh
Thinking, how he would love to relish her cuisine.
A poet can see the spectrum of dreams
Of the maiden who draws
Her beloved's face with scatches on her note book,
And thinks of it as a colorful kite,
While doing homework on a solitary night.
A poet knows the reason why,
The dare devil youth in the neighborhood
Suddenly becomes quiet and composed,
Recites poetry of Rumi or Kahlil Gibran,
And behaves like a polished gentleman.
A Poet understands who a man might think of,
When he pauses for a while buttoning his shirt,
And gets lost for a moment,
But comes back quickly,
Gets ready and gently drives away to work.

Thanks for the brief comment, @V.m.saraswathy Munuswamy. Brief, but befitting.
You have captured the tender heart of the poet. Poets do see more than the average person. We observe, feel others sadness and joy.then we write about it... And then off to work! 10/10
Thank you so much for the elaborate comment, @Elisabeth Wingle. Inspired by your generous rating.

I would like to translate this poem
A poet is one who is sensitive and has access to many hearts and easily step into another's shoe! In general he is compassionate and shed a tear for someone in pain! He knows the pangs of separation and the taste of love. In general he is familiar with all tender passions that can flit through a human heart! A poet's mental structure is well analyzed!
Thanks Valsa, for this high appraisal of my humble effort. Greatly inspired by your kind, thoughtful words.
