A Proud Veteran. Poem by Donald William Kinney

A Proud Veteran.

- - A PROUD VETERAN - -
If you take the first character of each sentence. It spells A PROUD VETERAN.

Anything I can give you, help your experience of God with many tomorrows even at the cost of my life.

Please, no sympathies but perhaps a little respect a job would do so my life may be like yours.

Running, throwing the ball, hugging my loved ones is only a few things I can't do anymore.

Our Lord has deemed me to continue my life with handy caps that are of my own for only me.

Under the flag, my comrades have lastly laid, deep in dark, they have won eternity.

Decide your fate and live your lives I have assisted in giving you your freedom by having my cries.

Very sad very happy was my travels carrying your dreams.

Every time we were asked to advance, never stop was taken and the lives of my comrades were given it seems.

Take some time a little effort to trust the giving of veterans all.

Everyone knows it would never be refused because we all have experienced that wall.

Rally along with us as we help them from their lack of joy.

Asking only a job, my home is of home as a boy.

Never wanting more than to do a job of the Proud American Solder.
