From Then To Now. Poem by Donald William Kinney

From Then To Now.

- - From THEN

I have a comment if you do not mind.
I love talking to you.
We are crowded in upon one another.
We are assaulted on all sides by radio, television, computers, the printed word.
We are taught to verbalize from an early age.
We have made almost a fetish of communication.
All of this input has driven us deeper inside ourselves.
There despite all of this push and pressure, we are locked in a lonely prison.
Then a person of you appear and I have a great appreciation for a messenger of calm.
You see We are very lonely. Our life is not.
We can't talk to each other without offending.
There is little touching in the world.
We can't reach all people with our feelings.
We pass like ships on a dark night at sea,
fearful of drawing too close and crashing into each other.
There is a great fog when we hide.
We call out to each other,
but the fog of our different interests and many concerns blurs the message.
Even on occasions when they try to come together as man and wife are meaningless.
It is worse than if they were strangers;
strangers would take some interest in each other.(like us) .
But though we are supposed to love each other,
and do, there is no interest, no delight.
No more interest is given to marriage.
I know that many people endure afflictions and deprivations far worse.

TO NOW - -

I live for today and when I am at the farm,
it is as if I am walking across a pleasant meadow,
with only the happy chiming of birds in my ears,
and the sunlight as of some wondrous love upon my face.
I have been given the honor of wanting me in your company.
You are a Beautiful person.
To say you are in my life is an understatement.
Hardships do work there way out of a person mind,
time just needs to adjust.
And you flatter me.
My eyes are filled with you when you enter my day,
to the point of leaving me for the day's end.
I feel your presence from the heart.
And see your presence from my eyes that see us.
I cannot help but notice you.
When one feels they have lost their way,
they should also realize that they are going in a different and happier way then being lost.
In my presence, I refuse to let you feel lost.
I am very attracted to you.
And that has cut into me in a great way and warms my heart.
My company with you is of respect and honor for the beauty of you.
I hope you do not hurt,
and can rest with ease that I would never want you to hurt,
or allow you to feel alone.
Your words are always welcome and I walk on every word you say.
You fascinate me with your interest in what both of us want to do together,
it is like nothing else matters.
I am drawn to you because of your crispness,
firm health and body, that you are so easy to understand.
I can talk to you about anything and have satisfaction for revealing it to you.
I want you drawn so close that one does one for one to be one.
To know you are there the heart is healed for the next battle.
I know of the heart because it drives me forward to a person of you.
We look and see in each eye our feelings and needs.
But never say a familiar word.
It is always something different then what is really in our hearts.
Nothing is less more rewarding then the prize each shall give to each.
One's fingers, toes, lips tongues. And thee. All of us.
The special wonder of the earth.
For I wonder but yearn for your person, not just the body.
You see my way I understand and admire the whole person.
You. I wait.

Thank You for The Beauty
