A Search For Lost Love Poem by Edwina Reizer

A Search For Lost Love

When all the things I've loved have gone
and escaped into the night.
I, myself will leave this place
and step into the light.

I'll try my best to find them again
and never give up hope.
For to just stay put and not move on
would never let me cope.

Too hard I say to face the loss.
My heart would slow right down
and never beat the way it should.
My face would wear a frown.

And so my search will start again
no matter how long it takes.
I'll search the lands and all the waters,
oceans, rivers and lakes.

For that's where you would be, my love
with rod and reel in hand.
My heart would skip a beat or two
but finally understand

that all the things I loved are mine
forever and a day.
They would live with me inside my mind
and never would they stray.
