A Song Of Past Poem by Kira Travis

A Song Of Past

Rating: 3.0

She ran down a corridor, passing doors open and many closed to her. The empty hallways echoed her footsteps until the echoing stopped because she found the end. A sound continues down as she raises her head to the open window and begins to sing. She sings in a tongue no longer spoken, but ethereal. A song of feeling grief and pain. Of love and longing. Of truth and peace but not happiness for she wished in her heart's hearts that she remain but everyone else the happiness she wishes herself to not keep. That peace hold high and stays strong. That's what she sings. In a tongue lost in time. Dirges and ballads aside together stories twining together and separating. She sings in a forgotten tongue. When her song ended and the melody cascades down the echoing halls, she disappears down a servants door and leaves the halls of forgotten time.
