A Strange And Sudden Happiness Poem by Shalom Freedman

A Strange And Sudden Happiness

A STRANGE AND SUDDEN HAPPINESS

A strange and sudden happiness came over me
In the midst of the middle of nothing special-
Being alive
Just here
After all the years-
Eleven o’clock in the morning
With three hours of work to go
Before I am free again-
A strange and sudden happiness
I thank God for.
