A Sunlit Shower Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

A Sunlit Shower

Rating: 5.0

The radiant sun is shining brightly...
suddenly heavy raindrops are crashing
my logic questions…this is not likely
powerful pounding gives thoughts a thrashing

As I gaze out my window the rain ceases
rapidly... as quickly as it came out of the blue
Tree leaves drip as the rain goes to the east
Fair weather remains… patches of gray bid adieu

Going outside to look for the hit and run
culprit responsible for the passing event
There are only a few traces of what has been...
Sunbeams thrive…the air is filled with a clean scent

The wave of transition has baptized vegetation
To the right is a serene view…to the left a rainbow
Such beauty gives a thrill…creating a celebration
as an arc of opalescence blesses the earth below

COMMENTS OF THE POEM
Pranab K Chakraborty 26 October 2010

Intelligence crashes the emotion and ultimately a wide panaroma where poet stands alone and aflamed by the overwhelming nature. Beautiful imagery with metaphors are strong to guide our thoughts from reality to a heavenly delight. we also utter with the poet at last: Such beauty gives a thrill…creating a celebration as an arc of opalescence blesses the earth below...... 10++++ Regards, pranab
