A.T.O.M. Poem by Ouch G. Hetrick

A.T.O.M.

Rating: 4.5

I lived for these days
a time older, a time wiser.
The few years on this poised
sphere wishing today to be
a little better.

If I could, it shall be.
If I fell, would you fix me?
Patch me when you can.
I smile for today,
for this day.

One candle. One flame.
Regenerate and proliferate.
Be here for one day,
one extra day.

And if you love me,
let me know. If you did,
don't let go. Let us stand
silent still. Let me show you
the first light by this hill.

Flambeau. Blaze.
Silent. Spray painted.
Gather and harmonize on
the poised sphere we've lived in.

I wish today would be a little better.
The way we talk to our majesty planets
is something compared to the
soothing sound of water droplets.

If you want love and be loved,
let me know. If you felt hurt,
don't let me go. Let me hold you.
Just smile for today,
here today,
your last and final day.
