A World Without Poetry
A world without poetry
Is a poorer sadder world
It has less Beauty and less Light-
Surely there are such worlds
And perhaps the Universe
In most of its vast spaces
Is not that much of a poem-
A world without poetry
Is an emptier flatter world
It has less feeling and less life
Better a world with poetry
Than none.
