Abandoned Dreams Poem by Mihaela Pirjol

Abandoned Dreams

Rating: 5.0

I threw my dreams, and I began to live.
I threw them at the gate of time—sealed;
And I let them die, along with my curiosity:
For ever buried in a mystery!

What is the worth if now I rue them?
If mine they could not be, and I could not keep them?
Half-dead with them myself as well I am: —
Why should I fear to bid farewell?

I turned my back and I walked away,
Towards No-Where, in dark: towards No-Way:
I placed my faith in God, and I shall see,
What predestined path He grants to me.

Without my dreams since then I live: —
I have a breath; therefore, —I must live!
I chase the past; Time's running chasing me,
Until one day…till I will cease to be.

Drive away the past and live in the present....! In the place of old dreams, start chasing new dreams! You have beautifully and touchingly projected the frustration of one whose dreams have been shattered! Awaken into a new morrow!

A beautiful poem enchanting the spirit of optimism, “Without my dreams since then I live/I have a breath: therefore, -I must live! ”. Loved reading it.
