Abortion (The Words Of An Unborn Child) Poem by Orlando Edwin

Abortion (The Words Of An Unborn Child)

Tiny heart Tiny beat..
The Paddling of two tiny feet.
Smile stretching far and wide..
Its the beginning of a little child

eyes soo bright, and very clear
Into the future they seem to endlessly stare
Hair growing longer, awaiting first trim.
Precious mouth stays closed, not time for talk or sing

Seven months already, two more to go.
But why am I being pulled, I`m not ready oh NO!
Mommy Mommy, is it the right time
Do i get to see my daddy, and all that is mine?

Ouch Mom who's got my legs
Tell them be tender, I`m not tough as a peg
Wee I`m almost there
getting ready for that first true stare

Hurry up mom, I cant last much longer.
And the pressure on my neck is so much stronger..
Is this what you went through, when it was your turn
Did your legs hurt and your neck start to burn

Love you mom, I`m sure its not your fault
I guess I`m just unwanted treasure meant to be kept locked in a vault
Why did that Guy not let me out
made me suffer, I tried hard to shout..

Wish I could have seen, little ones like me.
And touch that, noisy thing you called a puppy
wish dad could take me on a tour.
And heal the areas where I feel sore

But my hopes and dreams shall be no more.
Cuz your loving hands walked out the door
Mom I tried hard to make this sound Mild.
But those were the words of your Unborn Child

this brought me to tears. i agree with lucianne fasolo - its so easy to condemn abortion but ultimately so many factors play into making this kind of decision that one has no right to judge those who make this choice.

These words do sound cruel... because abortion at seven months of pregnancy is trully murder. Even so, I still think that abandoning a child (giving up for adoption, leaving it, you choose how to call it) is a much bigger crime than interrupting pregnancy in the earliest stage (which I don't believe is a crime) . Life is sacred, David said before me; if it's sacred why are there so many orphan children in the world? Where are the words of every unwanted, abandoned child? It's easy to condemn abortion. It's much harder to consider how an abandoned child feels, and how they turn out to be when they grow up.

These words do sound cruel, but there is no justification for murder. Perhaps one would reconsider after reading this little story. Life is sacred even to those who don't believe in God.
