Addiction
To my beautiful sisters what appearance do you reveal, walking around wearing a provocative outfit enticing and stimulating men, leaving nothing concealed for their imagination. Do you know how precious you really are, like an unpolished diamond a jewel that never took the time to develop, a precious stone scurrying about looking for approval from men, you chose to seduce them, using your body as a tool to please them, you equate the outer appearance as your value, which provided a false sense of beauty, that only contribute to your low self-esteem.
What you see in the mirror does not resemble a diamond, only because you are not looking deep within yourself to find your true worth, it seems easier for you to just get by, instead of reaching inward to the depth of your soul, you rather skim the surface of life using your body instead of your mind, let your intelligence stimulate your mind, find the depth of your value and shine bright like the diamond you are.
To all my brothers holding up buildings, and sitting on milk crates, and broken chairs, spending hours at corner stores, exchanging illegal substance for cash, you know prison and death are associated with your commodities, you rather sell death, and in prison the mind of your people instead of being a role model and lift your brother up, iron sharpens iron, but you rather rub two sticks together and burn your community down.
Who dimmed the light in your eyes? To cause it to flicker with imaginations of grandiose dreams, but never leaving the corner long enough, to turn off the flicker, and see your true dream in reality, these corners have seen enough of our generations slain in the streets, and our mother's and father's cry, why? Are we afflicted with so much pain, and so many of our young men and women are being slain.
Beloved there is hope, although the situation seems problematic, and they see no end to this vicious cycle of an urban life style.
Exodus 3: 7
"And the Lord said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; "
