After The Chaos.... Poem by RIC BASTASA

After The Chaos....

he says that when truth comes
knocking on his door and grieving
he will open the door and let
the truth enter without much funfare.
the truth is another visitor of
the house who will tell another
name for himself, who will show another
face of him, but he will not be shocked
as these faces had been with him ever since.

who says that man has only one face?
or even one body? when the truth arrives
at the house, some of those who have not
met it, will curse, but it will only be
for a time. The truth shall bare all of
us naked, twisted, and gnarled, but we
will wake up one day, adjusted to this
reality and soon the party shall begin.

who says that we cannot accept one another?
no, we will soon realize the unity of this
diversity. There is no choice, the sun and
the moon shall tell the same story.

shocking realities, anger and depression.
acceptance and realizations, and after
those dark nights, after all the nights when
truth sleeps in that house, when familiarity
is embraced, a great dinner is prepared by
all of us. Eyes with dried tears, and lips
wearing new smiles which were never there
before, but which our faces shall wear,

after the
chaos.
