Again And Again And Again Poem by Jim Boone

Again And Again And Again

When I 'lay me down to sleep', I believe
Tomorrow will become today again
For I ask the Creator guardians to deliver
Soul to Spirit before I get into another day
Of challenge, opportunity and exhaustion.

In my youth I knew I would awake and wonder
What new twists my natural unnaturalness
Would take; whose path would cross with mine
How a connection would play out
After work and before dawn
If someone would make-out and hold on or go?

In my adulthood the decision-making grew intense
While the choices I made would live to haunt me
And spell out another poetic response to ‘good bye’
Or‘what the’(!) , ‘oh Lord’, ‘no way’(!) , ‘gotta move’

Then came the break, the mental stillness, freedom
To go without recognition of divine guidance on
The presumption that speed was my only option

Crash(!) , bam(!) , come heal by the sea; the beautiful
And tumultuous sea that always brings calm to my
Repose and awakenings, again and again and again.
