Against Their Lies Poem by Shalom Freedman

Against Their Lies

Rating: 4.5

Against their lies
I am largely inarticulate-
They lie all the time
About everything-
Their culture is a culture
That has no respect for objective truth
They have convinced the world with their lies
‘There never was a Temple in Jerusalem
‘Jesus was not a Jew’
‘The Jews never had a place in the Holy Land’
‘The Jews started the wars and never want Peace
‘The Jews took away the state they had here’
‘The Jews have no historical relation to the Holy Land’
‘ The Jews are simply cruel to them’
They lie and make themselves innocent victims
When they are most often guilty even as victims
Victims who try to terrorize stab blow up burn murder Jews
In any way they can
They have made us more hated in the world
They continue to lie
And those who want to believe them
Who often dislike or even hate us for different reasons
Are glad to adopt and spread their lies
They lie and often succeed in their lying
And we stutter the truth when simple or most often more complex
As I stutter out my lines of rightful complaint now.
