Their race yet not over with that
Else way tortoise as thought to race
To run, to swim in halves, it sought
It planned so wise to win the race

Starting speeded with hare on land
Plodding slowed with tortoise to race
Yet in river tortoise swam freed
It planned so wise to win the race

Knowing not to swim the hare lost
In haste was his challenge to race
Knowing to swim tortoise swam fast
It planned so wise to win the race
