Alone In The Darkness Poem by Nick Downer

Alone In The Darkness

Rating: 5.0

There's so many stars in the sky tonight,
How can one sleep with so much light?
How can I close my eyes through the pain,
Cause once I awake it will be there again.
Alone in the darkness, no one is here,
Try to forget about the lonliness and fear.
Shut your eyes and dream of tomorrow,
Just one day without heartache and sorrow.
Alone in the darkness it all seems too much,
I long for some comfort, a familiar touch.
No one is here to tell me not to let go,
The hours are dragging, time seems so slow.
Dragging out pain but for how much longer?
In order to end it I'll have to be stronger.
Let go of the pain and all the misery,
You're the only one with the power,
To set yourself free.
