Altruism Of The Fine Collector

Rating: 3.0

In letting you pay your fine
in installments,
I am considering your pain.

By not requiring you to pay
more than you will have to
if you pay in a lump,
I am considering my own:

it's for the compassion for others
that I gain from it,
not from being seen to gain,
that I am self-inflicting pain.
