Am No Angel. Poem by Engy El Ghanam

Am No Angel.

Rating: 4.5

The diversity of targets is the core of all distortion
Like one could have from every cake a lil portion
We are such complex structures that gets only whats simple and plain
To get to the core of things we care for the trifles and leave whats main
Its weird that we believe in so many things and their contradictions
Then we twist back every road to serve our self created fictions
And we morn and grief for what we left behind intentionally
As if we live to self torture the sole in us subconsciously
My thought is that we do exist on the hope to break out of our skin
Easier to take the paths other carved and not the ones we feel within
A faultless scheme we set to guarantee the end that justifies the mean
the persistence to deny the right to dream, deny the grades of colors seen
how can we walk in so many different directions and feel not lost
dig out the facts of life inside out then waste the time to ease the dust
breaking to the surface is the dark deep hate hid inside the veins
tones of ruins that cannot be left with a thousand cranes
and it rises just when we fall apart from going round in circles
at the second we stop believing in the beauty of the miracles
its scary when you lose your thoughts to void and space
runs a chill down the spine to touch the heart on you and find no pace
I am no angel..no angel with no wings and white light rings
Am flesh, am blood, and I decay with all what the word brings
To forsake the things that molded pain to bricks and built ma walls
Is so divine…it overwhelms the power in me to stand the falls
And am no angel.
