Within the next billion years
the intense heat of the Sun
will evaporate the oceans
and in the dry bed of the seas,
there’ll be no lay-outs of the realtors
as all animal and plant life will be dead.
In the atmosphere of warmed earth,
there will be depletion of oxygen.
Carbon di-oxide will be scarce
as the chemical reactions with rain water
will have drawn more of it.
Jack Malley James predicts for the remains
of life in cooler climes of high altitudes
or in caves and undergrounds.
The realtors will set their eyes on
Afgan caves, deeps and Himalayan highs.
Microbes will rule the roost on the earth.
