An Encounter Poem by Anne Yun

An Encounter

Rating: 3.5

Someone weep while i sleep
But i've gone too deep
Struggle but can't wake up
Even by screams of breaking cup

To his comfort i haven't any help
But hear him weep
While i sleep
Oh, my moaning elf!

Sounds beat sounds to wake me up
Then i see floors of bleeding cup
Sits there, my weeping elf
Bits me suddenly in my eyes deep

Sleep is meant to restore us and console us. In this poem you are willing to give up those advantages to help someone in need, you cannot enjoy your sleep when when someone else is hurting. I take the nightmares to be your empathetic suffering with this person. I am moved by this poem of compassion (that English word from the Latin means To suffer with someone.)
