An Hour Before Light Poem by Peter S. Quinn

An Hour Before Light

An hour before light
in the night in the night,
where darkness caresses fate
and it's daybreak not late.
When times mystery is on
and dark coldness through yon,
in its sleepy eyes awake
of a forthcoming day to take.

An hour before light
when darkness's still in flight,
and the blue moon glows on
through dreams that are not gone.
When time through dreams waves
its mysteries mind craves,
of moon and clouds beyond
that dreams in sleep have found.

An hour before light
in all the mystery of the night,
where the deep unknown is calling
and no tick-tack of hours is falling.
Only mysteries of profound deep
from under your pillow and sleep,
before the new day comes here
with daylight in dawn everywhere.
