Anonymous Painter Poem by elysabeth faslund

Anonymous Painter

Rating: 5.0

Long-furred Bison paw, snort.
Lunge towards hunters
Leaning forward to toss
Lethal spears. Food.

The Sorcerer, chanting,
Taps blood on eyes
Torchlit into circles,
Terrified wide.

Fire pits shriek flames upward,
Finger painting
Finely sooted ceilings.
Friezes in fear.

Limestone walls trickle drops,
Leaching all Time
Languidly through paintings
Long left behind.

One handprint on the wall.
One fingerprint.
Ostracizing Masters.
Only questions....

Painter, what words for your
Poetry heart?
