Another Chance To Dance Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Another Chance To Dance

Each day.
Gives us,
Another chance to dance.
With a keeping upbeat.
To the rhythm.
Refusing to move to the groove of life,
Only validates one's absence of faith.
Taking for granted,
Steps they can place.
Away from malaise.

Each day.
No one should awaken,
In the morning to face a dawn.
Just to sit and watch,
The movement of any clock.
Done to do,
As the rhythm of life continues on.

Too many spend valuable time,
Wasting it away...
On familiar routines.
Found to find.
Seeking others who too,
Who compare and review...
Unchanged similarities.
With dreams to wish.
Without making attempts,
To move their feet.
Or at least seek the effort,
To defeat and leave...
Whatever confines them,
Accepting beliefs.
Connected to their repeating of griefs.
Sought to provide,
An unwanted but conscious...
Feelings felt.
That brings them a comfort known.
Quick to identify.
Each day.
To acknowledge first.
But not thirst to push,
Negativity aside.

Yet,
Each day.
Gives us another chance to dance.
With a keeping upbeat.
To the rhythm of life.
With it done to recognize,
And realize this gift God has given.
But so many choose to remain asleep.
Weakened by self deception.
And seeking to feed upon false beliefs.
24/7.
Each day of the week.
