Arachnophobia Poem by Eric Niehoff

Arachnophobia

Where once there was just a tattoo
A spider came, crawling through
An impossibility coming true

Looking with horror at this sight
Unable to contain my fright
Scared of venom within it’s bite

Continuing to feel alarm
It slowly crawls along my arm
Will this spider cause me harm?

Blackened void, where it appeared
Has now shrunk and disappeared
Only illusion is this weird

Jolted awake from a dream
Things are not what they seem
Life is never that extreme
