At Planet Bang Poem by Justin Gildow

At Planet Bang

At Planet Bang
Every type and kind of person is waiting outside
Just waiting to get inside
The popular, unpopular, gothic, punk, antisocial,
pretty, beautiful, fairy-like, and elegant
They all call this place their home away from home
on carefree nights such as this
It's especially even more wonderful when the stars
and moon shine down their protective light

At Planet Bang
I'm dressed up lightly gothic
While still keeping true to myself
The music can be heard all around
Couples are trying to find places alone to make out
Singles are writing down their phone numbers and
handing them out to the special ones they want to
fall in love with
And for the independents like myself
I'm just happy to be here

I'm more than happy to take in the surroundings
As well as listening to the band
And hearing a beautiful girl sing

I pay at the bar for a soda

I mingle among the crowd at Planet Bang
While admiring the fashion style of the ladies
And praising the fashion sense of the gentlemen
Though I must say
I love the look that many of the girls have created
in being fairy-like

Planet Bang will be open and going for hours on end
So I make my way outside for some fresh air
People are still coming
People are still in line waiitng
People are ready to pay
And let their imaginations and dancing feet take them
away

As I enjoy a little peace and quiet
A girl greets me
And hands over a slip of paper with her phone number
on it
I smile and say thanks
She tells me she looks forward to hearing from me

The night is still young
So I make my way back into Planet Bang
Ready to be entertained
Ready to dance the hours away one by one
As well as waiting, like others, for the arrival of the sun
