At The End Of The Woods Poem by Ruturaj Zadbuke

At The End Of The Woods

At the end of the woods I stand today,
I see rays of light glistening,
But my heart lies way behind
And I hope that it is listening.

I remember the day, in the middle of the woods,
When that fairy smiled at me,
I had never felt that before
It was a moment of joy and glee.

Euphoria would fall short to describe,
What I felt that moment and ever since
When I think of her,
I get surrounded by that mysterious positive vibe.

That Fairy I know not why never felt the same for me,
Even so she charmed my heart and cast a jinx on it,
I can’t hate her no matter how hard I try,
I just have to keep on loving her till may be I finally die.

This may seem a curse to some,
But to me it is a gentle reminder,
That such a soul as hers
Once touched my heart
When I travelled through those woods.

That heart of mine lies with her,
Oblivious to her, of course.
And every-time I get that mysterious feeling
May be my heart is at its source.

And I know not what feeling it is,
That I still feel joy to see her smile,
Even though I know now,
That that smile was never mine,
And never ever will it even be mine
