Bad Days Poem by Minx Videsben

Bad Days

Rating: 3.8

They always say, "It's only one bad day"
But what if it's been more than one day?
What if it's been two bad days?
Or four bad days?
Or 365 bad days?
What if it's only been bad days for so long that the good days don't even feel possible anymore
As if everything that was good has been soaked in terrible thoughts and fears
So then the only good thing to make any bad day better is just the memory of a good day
And boy do I really miss the good days
I miss the days when I didn't have to worry
When I didn't have to think
When I didn't have to worry about any home work I had to do
Or how much sleep I needed to get
When I didn't have to think about what I wanted to bring with me everytime I switched from my mother's house to my father's
When I didn't have to worry about if my dad would be angry or goofy anytime I tried speaking to him
When I didn't have to think about how many times my sister had called me stupid, and I had felt stupid
When I didn't have to worry about whether my grandmother was doing okay by herself or not
When I didn't have to think about if someone I didn't know on the street would try to kidnap and hurt me or not
When I didn't have to worry about how I looked in the eyes of others
When I didn't have to think about if somebody I loved hated me or not
When I didn't have to worry if I was too loud from crying at night and would wake somebody up
The days when I didn't have to think about what would be more painful,
A rope?
Or a knife?
