Banned Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

Banned

Here on PM, I really like the word "banned"-
It sort of clears the hidden cobwebs at hand.
Like a surface cleaner that rids the desk of dust,
Like some liquid stuff we use to remove rust.

"Banned" is good to block the undesirable,
Those who dictate on us, who make life irritable.
The word is like a door that we can always close
To those who annoy and degrade us, I suppose.

Not all people will like our words or our poetry,
And not all will like our views, yes some will disagree.
But there's a difference between saying one's viewpoint
And another in using insult as an attack, it disappoints.

So like the word "delete" but being a little more subtle,
"Banned" is the wall set up for some difficult people.
It is very discreet to use, I find it rather convenient,
Banned members leave my poems alone, now they are silent.
