Bare It's Love Poem by Simon Matar

Bare It's Love

I once read what seemed a very silly quote
that meant nothing till just a while before

'If love is the answer could you please rephrase the question? , ' by Lily Tomlin

Hard it was to understand whoever this, wrote
It sounded dull, a sentence said, no more

You read it a lot, and never down note
More than a simple question, what for?

A bumpy life, riding waves in a small boat
Wishing to reach safety, seeking the shore

Freezing from cold, desiring any coat
Or a flame of fire, some heat to stop the sore

Days have passed, living so remote
Understood nothing, nothing for sure
.
.
.
.

One day I sat with my own glass of wine
I gazed into its redness, read between the lines

It suddenly struck me, a power so divine
Inspired by two eyes, sweet as Zahlé Vines

For in those two bluish circles, I saw lives that shine
something very magical that shivers the spines

Then it all came to me, something hers and mine
Mother of my children, that's it, best of all signs

It's when I close my eyes, of her not only dream
The fruits of sentiments, it's no longer so gleam

To need, to care, it's everything to share
To imagine her a wife holding a baby… still bare
