Be Perfect Like The Father? Poem by Chuy Amante

I read in an Aramaic Bible,
'Be therefore perfect, just as your Father who is in Heaven is perfect.'

and I asked a Christian friend what
that meant to him personally

I was surprised it was
not his daily mantra

Is it so hard
to get up at the right time

eat what is best for you

be kind on your way to work

be kind and helpful to all there

share food and joy

go shopping for what you need
and buy only things that did
not hurt others in their production

be complimentary and kind to all

return home, help any as needed

eat with awareness and gratitude

keep your mind and heart free
from programming and deceitful
'news'

be one in heart with God,
be still and know Him

Rest wisely

repeat the process...

does that seem difficult?

if you can do it one day,
you can do it two
if you can do it two days
why not do it one day,
starting tomorrow
