Why so many people wish to live in Australia one can understand
It is such a big and a beautiful Land
Home to wattle, pittosporum and eucalypt tree
In the great southern Country no shortage of beauty to see

Australia's first people who have inspired song, story and rhyme
Their ancestors the people of the Dreamingtime
An old race their history the first book long does pre date
Their history and culture is well worthy to celebrate

Australia the home to wallaby, echidna, wombat, koala and roo
Of many species of small parrot to many species of larger cockatoo
And egg laying mammals and mound nesting birds nowhere else to be seen
In a Land of many shades of Nature's brown and green

Among the beautiful Lands of the World it does belong
Australia of the Dreamtime of story and song
Why so many people wish to come to live there not hard to understand
For it is indeed quite a beautiful Land.
