Beautiful Morning In My Happy Bed Poem by John W. McEwers

Beautiful Morning In My Happy Bed

The best part of this bed
Is not the pillows or the
Springs
Or that I can bounce a bit when
I fall into it
Or the pretty blue blanket that I
Bought from Target
Or the whole wheat cracker
Crumbs from things once
So yummy
No,
No I’m not talking about the
Smooth sheets
Or the cool feets
Or where the headboard meets
The wall (and it clatters sometimes)
No, I like my bed
Because you were in it
And the pillow that we shared
Because I hid the other one
Still has a hair or two of blonde
Strands so pretty and thin
They remind me
Of what I know you could be
I know you can lose weight.
