Beautiful Nightmare (a song)

wake up- I want to welcome you
to your worst nightmare
where you have to hold on forever
you'd much rather let go constantly
well I'm sorry, but this time
let's try to stay together

did your fingers always slip across my skin...
only to fall away?
and did your mouth always form that fake grin?
because I know you were never happy anyway

you light me up inside
so why is it so damn dark?
you make our thoughts collide
but you're never in my heart
I always try to remind you
that I'd never shed a tear
and I hope I'll always find you
anywhere but here

get out- I think I'm done with you
I bet you disagree
this is is all your loss
I could always tell you
never to come back
but I don't see any reason to give you
another line to cross

did your eyes only ever see...
just what you wanted them to?
did you choose who you were going to be?
don't answer that- your words are never true

you light me up inside
so why is it so damn dark?
you make our thoughts collide
but you're never in my heart
I always try to remind you
that I'd never shed a tear
and I hope I'll always find you
anywhere but here

let me die inside you now
unless I can escape somehow
I'm immune to your poison,
but I don't want you to hear me scream
well maybe it's all a dream

you light me up inside
so why is it so damn dark?
you make our thoughts collide
but you're never in my heart
I always try to remind you
that I'd never shed a tear
and I hope I'll always find you
anywhere but here

maybe it's all a dream
