Beautiful Place For Sacred Thoughts Poem by Devan Marie Edwards

Beautiful Place For Sacred Thoughts

Rating: 5.0

Sitting upon a concrete wall
Water streaming below are feet
Blades of grass coursed between our fingers
To drop a piece atop of the water to see it travel down the creek
Wind seems to brush through our hair ever so lightly
As the brisk breeze pierces our cheeks
Tears breech our eyelids
When our eyes meet each others, we sigh in disappointment
Look up, as a leaf falls and lands between us, we see the clouds are not in sight
Pondering many roads of thoughts coursing through our minds
A lock shuts those thoughts
And pain shakes inside our hearts
With a birds chirp, it breaks the silence
And beyond the asphalt is a short distance home
With a delicate gesture, we approached the asphalt
And within the distance the sun was setting on top of a shiny landscape
With as freely as an eagle ascending against the blue
We dry out tears
And movement around us distracts as we shed a smile of comfort
We came to my destination
As you walked away from me
Now only the thought remains
