Flock Like A Ravin Poem by Devan Marie Edwards

Flock Like A Ravin

Rating: 5.0

Wings black as the night sky
Dreams bright as the morning sun
Soaring, weaving in and out of clouds
Destination awaits
Nose diving into something unfamiliar, something new
To land upon a grassy knoll
Pecking at a worm, with endless possibilities
To push off the ground and flock back into the morning dew
Only to ponder on the thought of when this flight will be over
Wanting a new perch to rest upon
Paddling in the wind to pick up speed
Land on a branch in a big red wood
Glare at the sky
Swirls if blue, purple, and periwinkle
Then to fly and land on the dark side of the moon
Where death comes sooner than expected
But nightmares can be woken from
So you ascend to the nearest telephone wire
Where your with the ones who love you the most
And you flock off into the distance.
