Because I'M Staring Upwards Poem by Bragg Adocio

Because I'M Staring Upwards

Rating: 2.7

I like to Stare upwards at what would be stars if there were no clouds.
Like dropp of cream into coffee mugs, dark mocha interrupted.
Sprinkles of dissappointment reaching for cumulonimbus sugar cubes, but realizing there ain't stratus to sweeten my day.
Night walk interrupted as I trip over starlit cream skin, sprinkled with essence of cherries on top of mountains of 'bet you wish you had a spoon' of 'first come, last served' of M.C. Hammer touchables.
'Watch where you're going I-tard! ! '
Keep your nose on your toes, and your eyes on your souls because it's when you lose track of your pulse that your heart gets stepped on by some beautiful stranger with a hidden agenda.
Not to worry, it doesn't include you.
You're just the guy who's sneakers got scuffed on the way to the coffee shop because he was too busy checking his future in the stars to look straight.
'watch yourself moron! ! '
Because if you don't start now while you're alone, you might not know how when it happens again.
And when you fall down an Open man hole you just might get a little confused as to why your future is getting farther and farther from you.
Stop moving, this is a dangerous procedure! Walking, a series of controlled Falls with your eyes closed, head in the clouds and clouds in my coffee.
WonderlAnd deferred! Dreamworld spinning counter-clockwise trying to chase a sweet aroma only found in its memory.
'stop drifting off sailor! Pay attention! This isnt the time ñor the place to be looking up when the floor beneath your feet is being ripped from under you! '
Why am I casting my eyes to the sky when I know that what is real is right in front of me? There are no clouds and ghosts don't exist, not in the third dimension, only in wonderland, only on the flipside, only on green! Always tommorrow but never today!
I can't see the stars around noon..... And there were none last night.... Too many clouds.
Not enough coffee.
Not enough time to sleep or get a full forty winks so I daydream down main street with one eye open and the other on the sky making sure it doesn't fall back down to reAlity, to loneliness, coming down off that caffine high I got from tripping over star-lit cream skin interrupting my coffee, giving my wake-up call a stone cold punch.....
A frappuccino?
I guess I wouldn't know the difference since I'm always looking up and across the room when I'm sipping my cup. too focused on the stars in her eyes to notice the 'clouds in my coffee, clouds in my coffee! '
