Before You Die You Need To Know Poem by Patrick OBrien

For my grandpa:

Before you go I think you should know,
Even though I look into your eyes and all I say is, 'Hello',

That there is so many things that I have not said,
So many things that I dread.

I want to tell you that you are the hero I want to be,
And that we can all agree,

My love for you will never die,
On this you can rely.

Although cancer is strangling your soul,
We must take a stroll.

'Grandpa, I love you with all my heart' I say
'Pat, This is just the start' He said
