Beneath The Skies Poem by Christopher McKay

Beneath The Skies

The dawn breaks just below sunrise.
The sky is cracking in your eyes.
Below the belly of the moon,
The sun is rising to reach it's noon.
So follow with me to the sea
We will listen to the currents' turmoil,
Dance with me as the ocean breathes
And the waves relentlessly moil.
We shall float on the water
Far into the salty sea.
Our lost hearts begin to wonder
How this came to be.
Alas the moon languidly sets
With the lofty Sun trekking the sky,
This is a day we may never forget
As the day renders time for you and I.
The dusk breaks just below moonrise
As the darkness cracks the skies,
But above the head of the sun
The alltitudinous moon whispers lies.
