Best Friend's Forever? Poem by David Kevin Koch

Best Friend's Forever?

When we were young we were inseparable
When we were young we knew each other better than we knew ourselves
When we were young we didn’t care about anything
When we were young we played Nintendo all day
When we were young we had sleepover every day
When we were young we saw movies all the time
When we were young we did things we shouldn’t have done
When we were young we saw things we shouldn’t have seen
When we were young we cried together over the small things
When we were young we could never hold a grudge
When we were young we were close to home and supervised
When we were young we used to call each other everyday
When we were young we used to hang out everyday
When we were young I thought this friendship would never end
When we were young we were the best of friends

Now we don’t want to bee seen together
Now we don’t know anything about each other
Now all we care about is sex and drinking
Now we don’t play video games together anymore
Now we don’t want to talk, let alone sleepover
Now we haven’t seen a movie together in years
Now we still see things we shouldn’t see
Now we still do things we shouldn’t do
Now we haven’t cried together in years
Now we hold grudges against each other forever
Now we are wild and free
Now we never call each other and just talk
Now we never hang out anymore
Now our friendship is over
Now we have grown apart

ouch, i miss friends like that! but part of growing up is being your own person, each person you meet along the way has an effect on your life. just remember and appreciate the good times, later, reflectively, you'll be bonded with that person even more for being with you during that particular time.
