Beyond Poem by Silent Soliloquy

Beyond

How long this need, restrained beyond
the limits of all tolerance,
consumes my every waking thought.
The fear of what is beyond that
door keeps the 'beast' at bay.

Beyond the boundaries set, of which
once crossed I've no control, are
things best forgotten; pushed back into
the outer darkness of my soul's reach.

Beyond the endurance of what is within my power,
my hold is slipping; I feel it, as surely
as one holding to the edge of a precipice,
who in that one brief, everlasting moment,
loses his hold, and falls forever away.

Surrender; the word is whispered softly, seductively
Fullfillment is near; within your grasp.
I am beguiled; bewitched by the promise made.

By all I hold dear, I am forever lost
