Black Thoughts Poem by Jenna Dandurand

Black Thoughts

Black thoughts
envade my mind,
my private place,
my true disguise.
They say things,
things that tell me
to change me,
to obliterate how far I've come.
Black thoughts
twist and warp
all happiness
that I have seen.
Now all there is
includes darkness
and bleak prospects
that I can't possibly
decipher without
going over the edge.
I'm not crazy-
there's no way.
Is there?
Can the sane, the
people, go
insane?
Am I really
just that one
person who has
gone off the deep end?
Black thoughts
twist everything.
Nothing is the same anymore.
