Blackstrap - Poem by Dana Korneisel

The sanguine macabre
The bitter sweet salt
Of blackstrap molasses on blood

Stamping out wistful blues
And burning them rusty with specious heat

Read me black lace
Leather bound
Characters traced in black lip-stick and blood.

Satirically wicked.

Poet's Notes about The Poem

The result of getting somewhat miffed when I was referred to as 'an emo chick' because of my poetry
