Blind Again (2008) Poem by David Joel Rodriguez

Blind Again (2008)

Rating: 4.5

All excited for this day to turn night
Just thinking of you awaiting your sight

The table, romantically ready for two
For a night like so, thats been overdue

Satisfying dinner ready to be lovingly served
Prepared just for her and how she preferred

How time goes slow, yet so fast, hoping, it's soon
Also outside, a great night, admiring the moon

Inside I go, for a sugar sweet strawberry need
but then, I wonder, if it was another mislead

Again, I picture her, walking in with a smile
But it is just a vision of my mind going wild

The lustrous incandescence, ready for the big date
Yet no call, but in suspense, hoping she's just late

To end my sad and lonely sigh
I sit and wait for her to arrive

All soft jazzy selections of music in mind
but I'll just wait for her, so she can decide

Staring at the empty plates and glasses
Glance at the clock as the night passes

I later utter at the ending of scented candles...
How long can I wait, how long can I handle?

Every thoughtful meet, I end up getting hurt
With every girl I meet, I never seem to learn

I don't know why I even bother to do this
All I do is part my heart towards an abyss

All my situations seem to always end up the same
So, this is another night alone, because she never came
