Body Language Poem by Orlando Belo

Body Language

Rating: 5.0

From a distance or close by,
you give me a feeling deep inside.
So, it's time to confess that I love you,
a feeling I can no longer hide.

You look shocked and underwhelmed.
Are you so surprised by what I say?
Is it really so hard to believe,
that I could feel this way?

If I had not spoken, you would not have known,
how you affect my heart.
I don't know why I feel this way,
but I do and it's tearing me apart.

I now feel stupid and embarrassed,
I suppose you are going to walk away.
Well, thank you for not swearing at me,
at least I've said what I wanted to say.

Ah, I can see that the grey skies clearing,
is that sunshine beaming from your face?
Your eyes are also betraying your thoughts,
and your smile is not out of place.
