Will Our Love Conquer All Poem by Orlando Belo

You say that you live at the top of the hill,
but that doesn't mean much to me.
It's what you feel deep in your heart
and not the silver spoons and money.

I don't believe social standing is a reason,
that two lovers should be kept apart.
We can make love work if you really want it to,
you've got to listen to your heart.

Please, don't give me all the old excuses,
that this isn't the way it should be.
Love does conquer all you know,
just give it a chance and see.

Don't listen to your friends biased opinions,
they who don't understand or care.
They've never experienced what we have,
or know how to love and share.

Please tell me that you still love me
and that you do see it my way.
Tell me that we can and will be together,
and love will win through today.

If on the other hand you are thinking differently,
and that love does not conquer all.
And if you are thinking with your head instead of your heart,
then I'm a fool who has made the wrong call.
